Biography

Samuel Mills is a professional musician and teacher specalizing in Guitar Performance and Instruction.

Samuel has a Bachelor's Degree in Classical Guitar Performance from the University of Central Florida and is currently finishing a second degree in Music Education which will result in a second Bachelor's Degree and K - 12 teaching certificate to teach Music in Florida public schools.

As a performer, Samuel has had a notable presence in the Florida music scene. Performing in hard rock, blues, jam, and jazz groups he has performed over 1000 concerts in venues ranging from The Social and Downtown Disney to Universal Studios and The House of Blues. Currently Samuel is performing as a solo guitarist and guest artist in several groups.

Samuel has maintained a teaching studio in Central Florida for the past 10 years and has helped students develop into fine musicians. Currently teaching at Dr. Wind's School of Music (Longwood), The Right Combination Dance School (Winter Garden), and Orange County Private Schools, Samuel is adept at teaching ages from 7 and up. With a performance background in rock, jazz, blues, funk, metal, punk, & classical, Samuel can help develop his students' musicial skills in a variety of styles.

Samuel has been playing both guitar and bass guitar for over 17 years and has derived his style from many of his favorite performers such as Al Di Meola, Jimi Hendrix, John Scofield, Wes Montgomery, Slash, Tom Morello, Buckethead, and many others.

While finishing his Bachelor's degree in Music Performance and a Bachelor's degree in Music Education at the University of Central Florida, Samuel has taken the opportunity to establish himself as a session player in the Central Florida area applying his skills to commercials, live stage shows, studio recordings, and other projects.

Having grown up on punk and rock styles of the 80's - 90's, Samuel has studied Jazz and Blues throughout his career, as well as playing traditional classical guitar. He has been part of master classes with guitar greats such as David Starobin, Ana Vidovic, Remi Bouche, Ken Meyer, The Amadeus Duo, as well as many others.

Under the direction and guidance of Dr. Eladio Schárron, Samuel has been studying and implementing classical guitar into his guitar repertoire and performing solo classical concerts for many events around this area.
