Randall “Randy” Newman<\/b> (born November 28, 1943) is an American<\/a> singer-songwriter<\/a>, arranger, composer<\/a>, and pianist<\/a>. Newman is known for his voice and for his composition works for the Disney Pictures<\/a>\/Pixar<\/a> movies<\/p>\n

Since the 1980s, Newman has worked mostly as a movie composer. His movie scores include Ragtime<\/i>, Awakenings<\/i>, The Natural<\/a><\/i>, Leatherheads<\/i>, James and the Giant Peach<\/a><\/i>, Meet the Parents<\/i>, Cold Turkey<\/i>, Seabiscuit<\/i> and The Princess and the Frog<\/a><\/i>. He has scored seven Disney<\/a>–Pixar<\/a> movie: Toy Story<\/a><\/i>, A Bug’s Life<\/a><\/i>, Toy Story 2<\/a><\/i>, Monsters, Inc.<\/a><\/i>, Cars<\/a><\/i>, Toy Story 3<\/a><\/i>, and most recently, Monsters University<\/a><\/i>.<\/p>\n

Newman has been nominated for 20 Academy Awards<\/a>, winning only two of them. He has also won three Emmys<\/a>, six Grammy Awards<\/a>, and the Governor’s Award from the Recording Academy. Newman was added to the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002. In 2007, he was honored as a Disney Legend<\/a>.
